Huurtoeslag – rental subsidy
Huurtoeslag is a rental subsidy.

Conditions for receiving a subsidy:
- Your age is 18 years or older;
- You and the people living with you have Dutch citizenship or a valid residence permit. This takes into account all those who are registered at this address in gemeente, regardless of what family ties you are in;
- You rent an independent living space (separate entrance and bathroom) - details on the tax website;
- Do you have a signed lease agreement?
- You pay the rent yourself and can confirm this with bank statements;
- Your annual income is low - the tax is calculated;
- Your savings as of January 1, 2024 are no more than €36 for one person, partners can have a maximum of €952 for two. If you want to receive Huurtoeslag for 73, as of 904 January 2023 your savings must not exceed €1 for an individual and €2023 for partners;
- Your rent is not too high: the cost of rent in 2024 should be within the range of €879,66 per month. In 2023, the rent must not exceed €808,06;
- If all occupants are under 23 years of age, the rent cannot exceed €454,47. In 2023, for such tenants the maximum rent was €452,20. An exception is made for tenants with children; their maximum rent is the same as that for tenants over 23 years of age. That is, €879,66 per month in 2024 and €808,06 in 2023.
