Are you an individual entrepreneur (hereinafter IE) from the EU and want to go on a business trip to the Netherlands? As an individual entrepreneur from another EU country, you have the right to travel to the Netherlands on a business trip subject to certain laws and regulations.

We have prepared important information for you on registering your individual entrepreneur for a business trip to the Netherlands in accordance with the law on the conditions of employment of business travelers in the European Union (hereinafter WagwEU).

In the case of self-employed persons, the notification obligation only applies to independent entrepreneurs who work in certain sectors. These sectors include:

  • building;
  • cleaning of premises;
  • food industry;
  • metalworking;
  • service and care:
  • washing windows;
  • agriculture and gardening.

An individual entrepreneur who plans to go on a business trip to the Netherlands must fulfill a number of administrative obligations:

  • register on the Dutch online notification portal;
  • have supporting documents available such as payrolls, working hours and receipts;
  • have a responsible person in the Netherlands who can contact the SZW (Dutch Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment) inspectorate and act as a contact person. This could be an employee based in the Netherlands, for example an employee of the host country in the Netherlands.

  • IP name
  • Country of registration of individual entrepreneur

  • Identification number – VAT (VAT)

Host country data in the Netherlands:

  • Company name
  • Country of incorporation of the company
  • Registration number (KVK number)
  • VAT number (BTW nummer)
  • Company registration address
  • Contact person (person who will interact with government authorities in the Netherlands)

Information about the project (for example, about the object):

  • Type of activity of the company/Sector (you also need to find a suitable SBI code on the Dutch portal - sbi.cbs.nl)
  • Address of the location of the object in the Netherlands (actual address where the work is carried out)
  • Probable start and end date of the business trip
  • Responsible person who will pay your wages.

 

Form A1:

  • If you have already received the A1 form, then indicate the number and country of issue of the form.
  • If you applied for Form A1 but did not actually receive it, then you must have proof of filing for Form A1.
