Visiting grandmothers
Entry of grandparents living outside the EU to their newborn grandchildren in the Netherlands
The Netherlands, like other countries in the world, was affected by the coronavirus pandemic, which continues to this day and affects the living, working and studying conditions of people.
Unfortunately, the Netherlands remains closed to tourists and family visits. But since May 15, 2021, the Dutch government has allowed certain categories of citizens to enter the country.
One of the conditions for entering the Netherlands is the so-called “grandparents” rule. What is this rule?
The grandparents of children born in the Netherlands after March 19, 2020 are entitled to enter the Netherlands for the purpose of visiting their newborn grandchildren.
