Hello! I studied for my master's degree in 2015-2016. The first year was paid by the father from an account in a Russian bank to the account of the university. For the second year of study, I paid from my account, where my mother had transferred the money earlier. Can I get a refund for my studies if my parents paid for it? Or is it possible at least partially when I paid directly? And what are the expenses for studying, in addition to paying for the training itself, can you include: payment for textbooks, additional seminars, etc.?
Good day, Natalia!
Unfortunately, it is not possible to reimburse the tuition fees paid by the parents. Therefore, it will not be possible to receive tax refunds for 2015. Study expenses for 2016 can be included in the tax return. You must have all invoices and confirmation that you have paid personally from your account. Training and workshops can be included in the declaration.
In order for you to be paid a return for your studies, you must first go to work, and only then you can return the amount.
