Dutch tax authorities (belastingdienst) warn about another attempt to deceive the inhabitants of the country. Fake letters allegedly from belastingdienst began to arrive massively on the e-mail addresses of the Netherlands. This is a lie!

Despite their outward resemblance to the letters of the tax authorities, this is a fake. Apparently, the task of scammers is phishing - collecting personal data of users to use them for criminal purposes.
The letter refers to the obligation to check UBO data at the Chamber of Commerce, for which you need to activate the button "Confirm your data" (Controleer uw gegevens. Do not do that! In addition, the email recommends downloading the Message Box app. You don't need to do this either!
The abbreviation UBO in the Netherlands refers to the ultimate beneficiaries of companies. From September 27, 2020, registration in the register of ultimate beneficiaries has become mandatory. More about the registry - in our article.
