It was decided that the Dutch Revenue Service (tax authorities) and Branch of Subsidies (Surcharges) writes off all debts of parents who have suffered as a result of the so-called subsidy / compensation scam for kindergarten (childcare allowance) *.

Each affected family will be paid compensation in the amount of 30 euros, and it must reach them in full - the fiscal service will not withdraw part of it to pay off debts, since there are no more debts.

Other government organizations such as UWV, CAK, DUO и Social Verzekeringbank have joined the decision of the Internal Revenue Service and will also not claim the funds that the victims should receive.

This was stated by the Secretary of State for Finance Fan Huffeln: “I believe that the parents deserve it - let this amount be a new start for them, and they can use the money as compensation to start from scratch.”

Parents who apply for compensation before February 15, 2020, the payment of this amount will be made until May 1. It is planned that parents whose losses exceed 30 thousand euros will receive full compensation for losses based on the current compensation procedure.

In addition, the Division of Subsidies (Surcharges) will continue to work with municipalities to address other issues for families affected by the scam, such as housing, employment, or health care.
