The term for theoretical exams for obtaining a driver's license has been extended. If earlier these exams could be passed in the period from January 1, 2021 to May 1, 2021, now future drivers have time until October 1, 2021.
Due to the tightening of measures to combat coronavirus from mid-December to February 9, 2021, examinations were suspended. To compensate for this pause, the government decided to extend the deadline.
This extension also applies to theoretical and practical exams for logistics professionals such as truck drivers.
As a result of anti-covarian measures, some drivers are also unable to renew their driver's license. The solution to this problem is to extend the validity period of certificates that expired between February 1 and November 30, 2020. Drivers whose license expired during this period can continue to drive for an additional nine months. They remain insured for this period and will not be fined if stopped. This also applies to professional drivers whose certificate of professional competence (code 95) has expired before December 1st.
This measure does not apply to a driver's license that has been stopped, for example, due to a serious traffic violation or drinking alcohol.
