There have also been some changes in childcare organizations:
At first, from this year on, childcare companies (kinderopvang) should have a dedicated staff member with a teacher training who will train other staff about the day-to-day work with children, as well as participate in the development of a pedagogical support plan. This employee is not required to work full time, for example, small companies may employ self-employed persons for this function.
Secondly, this year the norms for the number of children in groups have changed. For example, the number of children per adult allowed in daycare groups has decreased. Now there can only be 3 children under the age of one year per employee (previously it was 4). On the other hand, in the buitenschoolse opvang groups for children from 7 to 13 years old, the maximum number of children, on the contrary, increased from 10 to 12 people per adult. This may make it more expensive to visit such groups, but since the allowance is also increasing at the same time, this should not hit the family budget.
