good afternoon!
I have two questions
1. I am a citizen of the Netherlands. I work as an engineer for a company. At the same time, for additional income, I want to open an online store selling lingerie items. Can I be an employee in the shipbuilding industry and at the same time be ZZP (KOR) as the owner of an online lingerie store?
2. The company (my main place of work) is restructuring due to lack of orders and in the near future is going to kill 175 people, including me. As a ZZP (online store), can I apply for UWV benefits? and does the presence of ZZP affect the amount of benefits after dismissal from the main place of work?
Thanks in advance.

Good afternoon, Dina
Thanks for your question,

You can be a hired worker and still run your own business. For each entrepreneur, there are tax credits that can be applied if certain conditions are met (for example, in order to apply zelfstandige aftrek and startersaftrek, you must work 1225 hours for your entrepreneur, which is not possible with a 32/40 hour work week). You are eligible for unemployment benefits, but in this case, the UWV will consider your situation comprehensively: how long have you been employed, how long have you been a ZZP, how successful your business is.
