Ранее we wrote about the government's plans to raise interest rates on unpaid taxes from 8% to 10,5% from March 1, 2023. However, this decision was canceled due to the fact that the government intends to set new interest rates in the spring.
Currently, there are two types of interest rates for taxes not paid to the budget in a timely manner:
- 8% on corporate income tax. This rate is pegged to the rate of the European Central Bank (ECB). Since the ECB rate is increasing from March 1 to 2,5%, it was planned to increase the charges on unpaid taxes to 10,5%, but the government considered this measure untimely.
- 4% for other taxes.
Official information on this decision is contained in Letter to the House of Representatives on the adjustment of the interest rate on corporate income tax and income tax.
We remind you that from March 1, the period for filing tax returns for the last year begins. Request this document here:! Get the latest and most useful information about life in the Netherlands in the section "News" our website and YouTube channel Tax.nl.
