The scheme for the exchange of cash Ukrainian hryvnia was developed by the EU. It began to apply from June 15th. Refugees were allowed to exchange up to 10 hryvnia per person at the rate of the Ukrainian Central Bank. The scheme was originally scheduled to run until September 000, but refugees continue to arrive. Until a pan-European decision has been made to extend the deadlines, Minister Kaag, by her decision, extended the exchange of cash hryvnia bills according to the same scheme until December 15. In addition to Ukrainian citizens, the exchange can be carried out by refugees with third-country citizenship who received a residence permit in Ukraine on February 23, 2022. For the exchange, you need to confirm the fact of being under temporary EU protection (with a sticker pasted into the passport or a separate document). A separate document is issued to Ukrainian men of military age, so that later they do not have problems due to evasion from service.Stickers must end by October 31st. However, the deadlines have been postponed several times in the past and may be postponed again (learn more about this of our Articles). It should be noted that the problem arises for those refugees who do not have a foreign passport, but an internal passport in Cyrillic. The Ministry of Finance is aware of this and is trying to find a solution with the help of the IND, but so far the problem has not been resolved.
