The Council of Europe has recommended that EU member states lift the current restrictions on the entry of foreigners for non-essential (tourist) purposes from March 1.

Who can enter:

  • *Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (with vaccination certificates). Vaccines must be approved by the EU and WHO (World Health Organization).
  • recovered from the coronavirus. The certificate of recovery will be valid for 180 days.
  • traveling from countries on the "green list". This is a list of EU coronavirus tolerance levels that will be updated every two weeks.

*Vaccination certificate is valid on the 14th day after vaccination and for 270 days. You can increase its duration only after the booster.

PCR tests

EU countries can require PCR tests (taken no later than 72 hours before departure) and impose quarantine on those who received a vaccine approved by WHO, but not approved in Europe. The same applies to those who have been ill.

Traveling with children

The Council of Europe proposes not to require vaccination certificates from children.

The condition for them is:

  • Children from 6 to 18 years of age can travel with a negative PCR test result taken no earlier than 72 hours before departure.

At the same time, EU countries may require additional PCR after arrival, as well as send them to quarantine.

Criteria for the "green list"

The list of countries with an acceptable level of incidence of COVID-19 is updated by the European Union every two weeks.

Criteria for forming the list:

  • The acceptable incidence of COVID-19 in the last 14 days is 100 cases per 100 population.
