In this regard, Russians have questions: can Russian citizens stay in the Netherlands after a 90-day stay on a short-stay visa?
We contacted the Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND) and found out that Russians are not eligible for the length of stay exemption. The fact is that they can fly to Russia, even though there are no direct flights.
Recall that according to the 90-day rule, a traveler on his short-stay visa can stay in one of the EU countries for a maximum of 90 days within any 180-day period. If the visa holder has been in the Schengen area for 90 consecutive days, then he must leave the EU and return again only after 90 days.
