The pandemic has made its own adjustments in our lives. You can't just fly to Europe - the entry ban is still in effect. But a Christmas miracle can still happen and you can hug your loved ones.
The exceptions that are made for certain categories of relatives will help you with this. Among them: grandparents (they can visit grandchildren under 18), those whose lover / sweetheart lives in the Netherlands, divorced parents who can come to their children in the NL. The ban on entering the EU will not apply to those who decided to visit a seriously ill relative living in the Netherlands.
At the same time, the ban on entering the EU does not apply to those who received one of the European vaccines.
