It is planned that citizens of countries that have a visa-free entry to the EU and Schengen will be required to register, starting in 2022 (deadlines can be clarified and revised), in the ETIAS system for entry and movement between the EU member states and the Schengen agreements.
ETIAS stands for European Travel Information and Authorization System. This is a fully electronic system that allows you to track visitors from countries that do not require a visa to enter the Schengen area. Applicants will be screened for EU security threats.
Previously, the ETIAS system was supposed to enter into force during 2021. According to ETIAS, while this measure will be in testing mode, but will become fully mandatory in 2023.
It is planned that registration will cost 7 euros per person, for persons under 18, registration will be free. Validity period - 3 years.
