The first Dutch insurer has announced the cost of the compulsory health insurance policy for the next year. At DSW, the premium increases by € 6,50 to € 124,50 per month. The increase in value turned out to be slightly higher than the members of the government expected. On Budget Day it was announced that the policy will cost 5 euros more. At the same time, the deductible (payment of own risks) remains at the same level, 385 euros.
At the same time, additional payments for people with low income are increasing. The maximum allowance increases by € 3,66 per month for single people and € 8,25 for multi-member families.
According to DSW, the increase in premiums is mainly due to higher wages for healthcare workers and higher prices. The insurer says the medical system is buying more expensive drugs.
According to the director of the insurance company Aad de Groot, Corona is unlikely to play a role in raising prices. "This is because the additional cost of the corona is actually offset by the lower cost of corona treatment, as regular treatments were largely suspended in the early months of the corona pandemic."
