Did you notice when you came to the shops after the New Year that prices have slightly increased? Moreover, for a fairly large number of products. Or maybe you recently bought flowers and noticed that they have risen in price a little too? And if you had a headache and you were at the pharmacy, you might have noticed a rise in the price of paracetamol.
The rise in price is due to the fact that this year the low BTW-tariff has been increased from 6% to 9%. And it affected a really very wide range of goods, including food, tap water (which means your usual water bills may increase), medicines and medical devices, books, magazines and newspapers and some other goods. Indirectly, this increase will affect everyone also because the low btw tariff also applies to goods for farmers, such as feed for livestock and seeds, which means that with its increase, the cost of farm products will increase.
However, not only goods have risen in price, but also some services, for example, accommodation in hotels and campgrounds, visits to circuses, zoos, sports competitions, amusement parks, museums, theaters, concerts, festivals, fairs, cinemas, sports activities, swimming pools, saunas, public transport, taxi, bicycle repair, shoe and clothing repair, hairdressing salons and many others.
All of the above (and not only) has risen in price (or will rise in price in the near future) by at least 2,8%, if sellers simply recalculated.
