We want to leave our son an inheritance of a residential house in the Netherlands. All are residents of the Netherlands. What is the inheritance tax rate? Is there a tax-free amount or is inheritance tax payable on the entire estate?

Good afternoon, Tatiana!

It is allowed to receive a targeted gift from parents in the amount of up to € 102.010 (the total limit for both parents) to buy or rebuild their own home without having to pay tax, subject to certain conditions (age, reason for the gift, donation period, act).

The tax rate for a gift to a child of real estate in 2020 is:
from 0 to 126.722 = 10%
from 126.723 = 20%.
