Good afternoon!
I am a kennismigrant (until Aug. 2023), I plan to receive from my mother, a resident of the Russian Federation, a gift of ~ 40000 € for investing in housing, I will take a mortgage. Interested in how best to arrange a translation.
I live here with my wife, as I understand it, from the sum ~ up to 61700 € for two, we can not pay tax. And then it will be enough for the bank to prove my relationship with my mother? Or if the act of donation is mandatory, can it be done remotely?
And what’s generally easier – for my mother to transfer the funds to me or for them to be transferred to my account within Russian banks and for me to transfer them to my own Dutch account?
Thanks in advance for the answer!
Good afternoon, Yuri!
We apologize for the late reply! In your case, the best option would be for your mother to transfer money from Russia to your account in the Netherlands. Gifts from relatives in other countries in the Netherlands are tax deductible. However, it will be necessary to prove the origin of the funds (if the bank is interested in them). To do this, you need to have a donation agreement and a contract for the sale of the apartment.
