Good day. There are already several questions on this forum regarding combining the main job in kennismigrant status and part-time work, but I would like to ask what if the part-time job consists in creating an intellectual product (such as writing a book or online courses) and selling them through specialized sites ( e.g. Udemy). Indeed, in this case, the product was created once, and then the author periodically receives royalties from the site if people buy the same book.
How is this formalized and how to report such income? After all, it is not constant, and in one quarter it can be 0, and in another – 1000 €. In addition, the author spent his time creating the product once, and then no time was wasted at all.
thanks in advance
Good afternoon.
Yes, you will not have working hours after the product was created, but there will be invoices, there will be (most likely) sales not only in the NL, but also in other countries, which means you will need to submit tax reports, namely, quarterly BTW reports and annual report. If there are no sales in some quarter, then you just need to submit a zero report. In addition, there is a separate report for the provision of e-services, which includes the sale of e-books, for example.
Therefore, you will need to register with KvK. You will not be able to make entrepreneurship your main activity, since for this you will not have enough “working hours,” which means you will have to show your income from sales in the column “income from other work.”
