Hello, I have been living in the Netherlands on a family visa for about 4 months. Kennismigrant's husband. I work for Russia remotely. Taxes are paid there accordingly. But since I plan to spend more than half the time a year here, I accordingly become a tax resident of the Netherlands. How can I start paying taxes here and not pay there?
Do you deal with similar issues?
Anna
In Holland, you become a tax resident from the moment of registration. The 183-day rule doesn't work here.
It is not clear from your question whether you work for a company or a self-employed person.
In any case, you have 2 options:
1. You can continue to pay taxes in Russia and then recalculate them under the law on double taxation. This is done at the time of filing the declaration.
2. You need to conduct your business in Russia as a foreigner, that is, either open a business in the IP and issue invoices (the most profitable option), or work as a freelancer under a contract, or work for hire as a foreign worker (your employer should want to issue this ). In the second option, you will not pay taxes in the Russian Federation, and you will pay them in the NL.
We are ready to help you with any of the options.
