During 2023, the state child care allowance (kinderopvangtoeslag) will increase by 1,74%. The increase in kinderopvangtoeslag is due to an increase in hourly rates for work and childcare: these rates will increase by 7,32%.
The maximum hourly rate for childcare work will be 9,12 euros and for childcare work 6,85 euros. You can find out more about the kinderopvangtoeslag and order a service for its design at this link.
The government is looking for ways to raise the benefit retroactively. If this succeeds, parents of children attending kindergarten or using other types of care and supervision will be able to receive a one-time supplement for the time that the allowance was paid in the previous amount.
