The EU has blacklisted Anguilla, the Bahamas, the Turks and Caicos Islands. Now these territories are considered conducive to tax evasion. Offshore countries and territories establish very low incomes for companies registered in their territory on the income that those companies receive in other states. This deprives the budgets of those countries where profits are generated. There are currently 12 countries and territories on the list.
The EU is regularly criticized for its inconsistent anti-offshore policies. So, Anguilla was excluded from the list in 2021, and the Bahamas - in 2018. Critics also do not like the impossibility of being included in the list of EU countries pursuing a similar economic policy.
