The Government Real Estate Agency on behalf of the Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning De Jonge (De Jonge) announced a tender for the construction of 2000 apartment buildings. It is part of a larger affordable housing development. Total in the period 2022-2024. the government plans to ensure the construction of 37 apartment buildings with affordable housing. Year by year, government plans include building: 500 - 2022, 7500 - 2023, 15 - 000 houses with affordable apartments.
The program is implemented in close cooperation with the central government of municipalities and housing associations. Ordering and monitoring construction through one organization - the State Real Estate Agency - allows you to significantly reduce the costs and time required to build houses. The participation of the municipalities in the program consists in offering construction sites and quickly obtaining the necessary permits. Houses built by the government real estate agency are sold to housing associations, who manage them and rent apartments at affordable prices. The government is working on a program that will cover the financial risks of developers if municipalities fail to allocate construction sites in a timely manner.
