During the summer months, the Dutch Immigration and Naturalization Service (Immigratie en Naturalisatiedienst (IND)) is usually overburdened. August is a traditional holiday season. As a result, fewer employees have to serve more visitors. The situation is also aggravated by the mass arrival of Ukrainian refugees who need to apply for temporary protection in the Netherlands. Waiting for admission and paperwork are delayed. Nevertheless, IND management assures that all applications will be accepted and processed, although the waiting period for results will increase.
Online access to IND appointments will be restricted on 25 August and 13 September. Online service will be unavailable from 9:00 to 13:00 on Thursday (August 25) and Tuesday (September 13). It is to be expected that after opening these days the service will be overloaded.
