Over 60 refugees from Ukraine are under the temporary protection of the Netherlands, mostly women and children. Among children there are also those who should receive documents on secondary education. Naturally, the refugees were worried about whether they could be received in a timely manner. Now you can answer for sure - you can get a certificate abroad! The Ministry of Education and Science (MES) of Ukraine has issued relevant recommendations.
Graduates of schools located abroad will be able to obtain documents on basic and complete general secondary education in the host country. To do this, you need to contact the school in which the graduate studied.
To ensure this possibility, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine have developed a procedure for interdepartmental cooperation on the issues of handing over to applicants for education who are outside of Ukraine documents on basic and complete general secondary education issued under martial law in Ukraine. This Procedure was approved by order of the Ministry of Education and Science No. 538/192 of June 9, 2022.
In order to obtain a certificate of complete general secondary education or a certificate of basic general secondary education, graduates of Ukrainian schools who are abroad during martial law must apply to the educational institution where they studied. An application can be submitted by one of the parents, a legal representative, a relative or an adult graduate himself. In some cases, a graduate who has not reached the age of majority can also apply in person.
Further, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine jointly draw up documents and transfer them to that diplomatic institution abroad, where the graduate can receive this certificate or certificate.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine also developed recommendations on continuing education and obtaining documents on education for students in the temporarily occupied territories.
