One of the most important novelties of the school day: the procedure for training for Ukrainians has been simplified, as they arrived to the country.
The main document that guides the Netherlands when accepting refugees from Ukraine is the “Directive on Temporary Protection” (de Richtlijn Tijdelijke bescherming). What is written here is not depriving the constitutional right of any person who requested protection from the Netherlands (the right to health care), but also the points that indicate the “special status” of Ukrainians who came to the Netherlands during the war in Ukraine edges. Ukrainians will be able to work without permission
One of the most important news of yesterday: the employment procedure for Ukrainians who arrived in the country has been simplified.
The main document that the Dutch government is guided by when accepting refugees from Ukraine is the Temporary Protection Directive (de Richtlijn Tijdelijke bescherming). It spells out not only the constitutional rights of any person who asked for protection in the Netherlands (shelter, food and medical assistance), but also the moments that determine the “special status” of Ukrainians who came to the Netherlands during the war in Ukraine. And this status also implies the right to education and work.
Usually, obtaining a work permit is a separate bureaucratic procedure that requires time and nerves from both the potential employee and the employer. To ease the situation with the hiring of Ukrainian citizens who are now in the Netherlands, the Government Committee for Crisis Management (Ministeriële Commissie Crisisbeheersing) decided from April 1 to exempt Ukrainians who have requested temporary protection from the obligation to obtain a work permit before employment.
This was stated on March 17 by State Secretary E. van der Burg: “The government is temporarily expanding the access of Ukrainians to the labor market by exempting them from the obligation to issue a work permit. However, there remains an obligation to report.” This decision makes life easier not only for employees, but also for employers, by simplifying the process of hiring Ukrainian refugees if they want to work.
The opportunity for Ukrainians to work in the provision of childcare services is also discussed separately. Now this is a type of activity that requires special education in the Netherlands or confirmation (legalization) of a foreign diploma in the specialty.
