  Ukrainians are asked, if possible, to inform the Netherlands Food and Consumer Goods Safety Authority (NVWA) of their arrival with pets in the Netherlands in advance.

  How do I report a pet to the authorities?

  If you are flying by plane:

  • Upon arrival in the Netherlands, choose the "Red Corridor" and inform the customs officer that you have arrived with the animal.
  • If your pet does not meet EU requirements, Customs will contact an NVWA veterinarian. The veterinarian will assess the risk and take the necessary precautions to prevent the importation of dangerous diseases into the Netherlands. In connection with the current situation, veterinarians will not be particularly zealous.

  Tips for Ukrainians with pets:

  1. Contact your veterinarian in the Netherlands as soon as possible. If necessary, get your pet vaccinated against rabies, microchipped and registered.
  2. Make sure that before the visit to the veterinarian, the animal has as little contact with other people and animals as possible.
