We continue the series of publications dedicated to the plans of the government headed by Mark Rutte for the fourth time. The coalition agreement (coalitieakkoord) reached by the parties VVD, D66, CDA and ChristenUnie presents initiatives that are yet to become laws.
Alas, the self-employment tax deduction (zelfstandigenaftrek) will continue to decrease even faster than originally intended. We continue to keep you updated. Start here (2020) и here (2021).
Tax deduction changes:
In 2021 - 6.670 euros
In 2022 - 6.310 euros
In 2023 - 5.950 euros
In 2024 - 5.590 euros
In 2030 there will be only 1.200 euros.
This means that most of the sole proprietor's income will be taxed. Thus, the authorities want to reduce the tax difference between EMZ/ZZP and employees.
But the upside is that the vast majority of entrepreneurs are unlikely to lose out. The decrease in the deduction will be offset by an increase in the tax credit for working people (arbeidskorting).
Important!
To qualify for the declining but still fairly decent self-employed tax credit (and other credits), an entrepreneur must meet the main requirement of spending 1.225 hours a year on their business. More here.
