Top executives at large enterprises expect the coronavirus crisis to end in mid-2022. A return to "normal" business practices is predicted by about half of CEOs around the world. This is evidenced by a global survey of executives KPMG CEO Outlook Pulse Survey. As part of the study, more than one thousand three hundred people were interviewed.

Despite the spread of the Delta strain, sixty percent of managers expect economic growth in the next three years. According to 69 percent of executives, growth will come from investing in their own business, establishing partnerships and doing business more organically. Key risks to prosperity: supply chain, digital security and climate change. “The coronavirus crisis has significantly increased attention to the area of sustainable development. The realization that progress no longer depends solely on economic prosperity is recognized more than ever in the boardroom,” says Stephanie Hottenhuis, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KPMG in the Netherlands.

Dutch executives are more concerned with employee comfort than others.

Specifically, Dutch CEOs are very supportive of so-called hybrid work (partly in the office, partly at home or elsewhere). 67% versus 42% of overseas business leaders. In addition, Dutch executives are more concerned with employee welfare than others.

And this has a positive effect not only on the Dutch themselves, but also on those who would like to work and study in the Netherlands. By the way, this year the Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND) has noted a significant increase in the number of applications for study permits from students from outside the EU. In total, at the end of July this year, more applications were received (15) than for the whole of 110 (2020). In recent months, the IND processed an average of three times as many applications as in the same period in 12310. Undoubtedly, these numbers were influenced by the pandemic, but the traditional attractiveness of Dutch colleges (democratic price of education, teaching style, attitude towards students) for international students should not be overlooked.

Returning to economic growth, let's say that according to the Dutch Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), the number of bankrupt companies fell again. In August, 11 entrepreneurs declared bankruptcy less than in July. The number of bankruptcies is at a historically low level. We wrote in more detail about how the Netherlands conquers the crisis without bankruptcy. here.

Undoubtedly, these indicators were influenced by the state support of Dutch businessmen. The help of the government and the favorable conditions that it creates make the Netherlands a very attractive country not only for Dutch but also foreign entrepreneurs.
