This is how you can describe the effect of today's press conference: the Cabinet of Ministers has finally announced a slow and careful return to normal life. It cannot be said that this was not expected after criticism in social networks and a number of demonstrations that took place in large cities after the previous conference, but doubts still remained.

The Dutch have already shown themselves to be highly disciplined citizens and, of course, everyone is well aware that the observance of basic rules of protection and hygiene is more important now than ever.

The plan proposed by the Cabinet of Ministers envisages several periods (see infographic below). On May 11, in addition to schools and kindergartens, hairdressing salons, cosmetics stores, manicure and massage parlors will open, subject to strict compliance with the new requirements. Libraries are also reopening their doors to the public. They are followed by theaters, cinemas and museums. Public transport will start operating almost as usual on June 1, but passengers will be required to use non-medical masks.

Obviously, further relaxation of measures is possible only if the virus remains under control. If a new outbreak does not arise and the number of infected continues to decline, then from June 1, open terraces will become the "first swallows" in the restaurant business, and restaurants and cafes themselves will be able to be visited by 30 people at the same time.

And we continue to wait for new news and prepare to return to a fulfilling life!
