On Monday 3rd December (that is, tomorrow) at 12.00 NL-Alert will send test SMS to check if your phone is connected to the system correctly. Having received such a message, you will know for sure that your phone is connected to the system of notifications about dangerous situations.
What does NL-Alert do? It sends SMS notifications about dangerous situations for life and health, such as, for example, a fire or terrorist attack, in your region and also a list of necessary measures in this case.
If you know for sure that you are not receiving such messages, but you want or seem to want to receive and did something for this, but will not receive messages on Monday, you can set up receiving messages on your phone.
You can do this yourself in the settings of your phone.
Instructions on the example of Samsuns S9:
Go to Apps => Berichten => Opties => Meer Instellingen => Uitzendkanalen => Kanaal toevoegen.
Channel name NS-Alert, channel number 919, do not forget to check the Kanaal inschakelen checkbox and save the setting.
If you have an Iphone, then you can use NS-Alert only if you have an iphone 4s or older. To do this, go to the "Settings", "Notification" section.
At the bottom of the screen, select the "Emergency Notifications" option.
Your mobile phone is now connected to the NL-Alert.
