Hello!
I have been a resident of the NL since October, I have been working in a local company (BV) since December, I am getting a ruling (having Masters and the necessary income). The first contract lasted 7 months, it is coming to an end, and the employer did not want to renew it, referring to the crisis. Can you please tell me what kind of redundancy payment I can apply for? Is there any severance pay?
If the employer does not terminate the employment contract ahead of schedule, then the employee cannot claim severance pay from the employer, since it is paid only upon dismissal. However, subject to all conditions, the employee may qualify for WW-uitkering from UWV.
We would like to pay special attention to the conditions for receiving benefits that you can receive from UWV when you lose your job.
First: The minimum period of work. that's 26 working weeks in the last 36 weeks. If you have worked a total of 8 working weeks (six months) in the last 26 months (counting back from the time you lost your job), then you are entitled to at least the minimum benefit. A working week is a week with at least 1 full working day.
Secondly: The work must be precisely “lost”. That is, you cannot claim this benefit if you quit "of your own free will."
Third: To receive unemployment benefits, you must be looking for a job. To do this, it is necessary to register in the Werkbedrijf (www.werk.nl) state “base of job seekers”, come to meetings assigned to you by your contact person, soloist (respond to ads, register with the employment office, send your CVs, go for interviews).
Fourth: Another very important note: it is best to apply for benefits one week before the last business day.
