Good dend! I really need advice! The situation is this: on September 1, 2017, I moved and registered in the Netherlands. Until that time, she lived and worked in another European country, paid taxes.
From mid-October 2017, she began to work in the Netherlands. At the beginning of 2018, she filed a tax return (m-form), which also asked to indicate the income that was before moving here. Now they are asking me to pay 2000 € tax for the amount I earned before moving to the Netherlands. It seems that at first we managed to resolve the situation, and the tax officer said that it was most likely a mistake and we filled out the declaration again and sent it. My re-declaration is in processing status. Today I received a letter reminding me that I need to pay the invoice. I think this is absurd because working in another European country, I have already paid tax on my salary. And in general I do not understand why I need to pay something for the period of time when I was not even registered in the Netherlands!

Natalia, hello.
You, indeed, do not have to pay tax on income received not in the IP, but now the situation is such that a decision has already been made on your initial declaration and some payment has been accrued to you. It is not closed, which means that it will be subject to penalties and fines. In this situation, you have two options: you can either pay what has already been charged and wait for a new decision. If you and the tax officer re-filed everything correctly, the money will be returned to you. However, it is possible that there is an error in the new declaration. The second option is to request a deferment of payment until a second decision is made and see what they calculate this time.

We recommend that you seek advice in order to know for sure whether you have submitted everything correctly and what to expect. If you need help with verification, you can send us copies of your completed declarations and relevant documents (it is not necessary to come for a consultation, all this can be done online) and we will check if everything is entered correctly.

We can also request a deferred payment for you, the cost of such a service will be 35 euros (+ VAT). You can request this service by writing us an email info@nalog.nl

You can also make changes to the declaration with the help of a specialist and then you can definitely wait for a positive decision. Filing a tax return with us costs from 50 to 165 euros (+ VAT) depending on the complexity.
If you decide to apply through our company, please fill out the order form here.
We will be happy to help. And with any decision of success!
Best regards, Nalog.nl team
