I have been living in the Netherlands for 3 years on a family visa. The husband is a high skilled migrant. In 2016/2017, she had a part-time job in Russia remotely. I did not receive a request to fill out the declaration and, accordingly, did not pay anything. Is it true that I have the right to file a return within 5 years and no penalties will apply?
You are required to submit your part-time work in the Russian Federation in a declaration to the NL. The law states that even if you did not receive a letter, but you know that you have to pay something, then you have an obligation to file a declaration. Of course, you might not “know”, so such filing at the wrong time is not subject to penalties. And yes, you have the right to submit a declaration for 2016 until 31.12.2021/2017/31.12.2022, and for 1 until XNUMX/XNUMX/XNUMX. Please note that if you are required to pay something in NL, then from July XNUMX of the year following the reporting year, a penalty will be charged on the amount payable. Therefore, we do not recommend delaying delivery.
