What should entrepreneurs expect? Will the minimum wage increase?

The House of Representatives' decision to raise the minimum wage has left many entrepreneurs disheartened. Things are not going well yet, and higher wages will require higher prices. For now, you can reassure yourself that there is no unanimity in ruling circles on this issue. It is possible that the decision to increase salaries will not be approved. In particular, Finance Minister Sigrid Kaag and Deputy Prime Minister Karin van Gennip sharply opposed this populist step.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that the deputies will decide, but they need to take a step back and deviate from the decision made. Raising salaries while simultaneously freezing the increase in excise taxes could cause an imbalance in the economy, and the deputies did not propose real sources of additional budget financing.

Thus, the high-profile decision of parliament has not yet become law. Perhaps the government and parliament will be able to agree on adjusting the decision. Then entrepreneurs’ fears for their business will no longer be so acute.
