Tax authorities send letters to entrepreneurs in connection with a special deferred payment

Some entrepreneurs who received a special deferred payment in connection with the coronacrisis began to receive letters from the tax authorities (belastingdienst). Letters are sent to those who, according to belastingdienst, have violated at least one of the two conditions for granting a grace period:

1. Full payment of new tax liabilities from October 1, 2022.
2. Timely repayment of tax debts in accordance with the agreement on granting a special deferment.

If you have paid off the debt within two weeks before receiving the letter, you do not need to do anything. If you provided belastingdienst with an incorrect payment link, you will be refunded and the payment must be made again. If the debt really exists, try to pay it off as soon as possible! If there is no money to pay the debt, you need to file an application with the tax authorities to adjust the payment scheme.
