The possibility of obtaining such compensation was announced by the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation (Mintsifra) on his official telegram channel. To qualify for compensation, Ukrainians should no later than January 16, 2023 apply to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR).
How to file an application with the ECtHR?
Step-by-step instruction:
- Follow the link to court website and fill out the application form.
- Download the completed form to your computer and print it out.
- Put the application in a postal envelope and paste on it the address of the ECtHR, which will be automatically generated when the application is printed.
- Visit one of the branches of Ukrposhta and send an application to the ECtHR. This service is free.
If a Ukrainian victim of Russian aggression cannot apply to the ECHR in person, a relative of the victim can submit an application on his behalf. The term for consideration of applications by the European Court of Human Rights is up to 1 year.
