From April XNUMX, Ukrainians who have received the status of temporary protection can get a job in the Netherlands. And the companies that accept Ukrainians in the state, do not have to obtain a special permit to employ a refugee, but if they accepted a refugee from Ukraine to work, they are obliged to notify the government about this. The results of the first month of employment of Ukrainians summed up the service UWV (Uitvoeringsinstituut Werknemersverzekeringen - Employee Insurance Agency).

Over 4300 notifications per month

This month more than 4300 employers filed a notification to the UWV about hiring Ukrainians. Over 550 notifications were received in the first week of April, over 850 in the second week, and over 1550 in the third. In the last week of April, 1350 more employers applied to UWV, bringing the total number of enterprises that now employ Ukrainians who received the status of temporary protection , exceeded 4300 companies.

To work through agencies

Refugees from Ukraine find work in various areas: the hospitality industry (HORECA), business services, transport and logistics. Most refugees find work through employment agencies. About 40% of registered notifications from enterprises that have hired Ukrainian refugees indicate this. Through the uitzendbureau, refugees go to work, for example, as factory workers, cleaners and warehouse workers. Many also find work directly with employers, in particular, in agriculture and gardening (11%), catering (11%) and business services (9%).

Employment at Randstad

Especially popular in terms of employment is the capital region - the Randstad area. The Randstad includes the four largest cities in the Netherlands: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht. It is here that many refugees from Ukraine find work.

Of the total number of companies that have hired Ukrainian refugees, 12% are located in the so-called "Greater Amsterdam" (Groot-Amsterdam). Groot-Amsterdam unites the satellite cities of the Dutch capital: Amstelveen, Diemen, Aalsmeer, Beemster, Edam-Volendam, Landsmeer, Oostzaan, Ouder-Amstel, Haarlemmermeer, Purmerend, Uithoorn and Waterland (Amstelveen, Diemen, Aalsmeer, Beemster, Edam-Volendam, Landsmeer, Oostzaan , Ouder-Amstel, Haarlemmermeer, Purmerend, Uithoorn en Waterland).

Many Ukrainians (11%) find work in companies near the cities of Gouda (Gouda), Leiden (Leiden), Zoetermeer (Zoetermeer). And almost 10% of the enterprises that employed Ukrainians are located in the district of The Hague (Den Haag, Haaglanden). Here, most often refugees find jobs in the catering sector or find seasonal work through temporary employment agencies.
