This is another anti-smoking measure under the government's Nationaal Preventieakkoord program. It aims to combat tobacco smoking, excessive alcohol consumption and obesity. Together, these problems kill 35.000 residents of the country every year.
The lion's share of them, namely 20.000, are deprived of their lives "thanks to" smoking (active and passive).
There are plans to reduce the number of smokers to 2040% by 5. It seems that such a rosy prospect may well come true.
What has already been done?
