Are you a happy horse owner? Or perhaps a zebra, donkey or other ungulate? Then do not forget to register their movement in Identificatie & Registraciesysteem (I&R).
The new compulsory registration rule came into effect on April 21, 2021. Owners of horses and other ungulates must now register them with the I&R when moving their wards for more than 30 days. This applies to both domestic movements of animals and import-export for a period of more than 30 days. You have 7 calendar days to register the transfer of wards.
I&R hosts provide data that allows animals to be quickly identified. This is especially important in the case of animal illness.
If you plan to compete with your horse or are simply changing its location, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with new registration rules.
Our experts are ready to advise on the registration topic if you have any questions.
