The topic of saving and cutting costs has recently become very popular and relevant. For example, when buying a home in the Netherlands, you can significantly save on tax. How? Simple enough!
If you are buying your first home and you are between 18 and 35 years old, then from January 1, 2021, you may be exempt from property transfer tax (overdrachtbelasting).
For buyers over 35 years old, the rate of this tax will be 2%, provided that they use this opportunity for the first time (our reference: for a second and subsequent home purchase or for a second home / vacation home, a rate of 8% applies).
Please note that from April 1, an additional condition is introduced for the application of a reduced rate - the value of the property being purchased must not exceed 400.000 euros.
To declare your right to a reduced tariff to the tax service, you must fill out an application and attach it to the documents BEFORE signing the deed of sale and purchase of real estate. This can be done using our new service:
