Temporary tightening of a partial lockdown.

Another press conference with Prime Minister Rutte took place today. According to him, although we have already managed to reduce the growth in the number of infections, the numbers are not falling fast enough. Therefore, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to introduce new restrictive measures for the next 2 weeks in addition to the current partial lockdown regime.

The following measures will take effect on Wednesday, November 4th at 22:00 pm and will run until Wednesday, November 18th:

Groups:

  • The house can host a maximum of 2 guests per day.
  • Indoors (not at home) and outdoors, a group can consist of a maximum of 2 people from different families.
  • There are no restrictions for people from the same family.
  • A maximum of 30 people can attend the funeral.
  • A maximum of 20 people can attend the wedding.

Everyday life:

  • Stay at home as long as possible, even while on vacation.
  • Make only the necessary trips
  • Keep working from home for as long as possible
  • People aged 13 and older must wear a mask in public areas and on public transport.
  • In high school, MBO, and high school (HBO), everyone must wear a mask outside of the classroom.
  • All public places are closed: museums, theaters, brothels, cinemas, amusement parks, zoos, swimming pools and libraries.
  • All cafes, bars and restaurants will be open for take-out only. Exceptions: hotel guest hotels, funeral homes, security screened airports. In combined rooms, it is necessary to cover only the part with the catering function.
  • Retail stores close by 20:00 at the latest. Shopping evenings will be canceled. Grocery stores may close later. Commodity markets will not close.
  • Sale and delivery of alcohol is prohibited from 20:00 to 07:00.
  • It is forbidden to consume and carry alcohol in public places from 20:00 to 07:00.
  • Events (closed and open) are prohibited, with the exception of demonstrations and gatherings in accordance with the Public Events Law.
  • In the retail sector, agreements are being made to strictly adhere to protocols, if the sector becomes too busy or does not follow the basic rules, this sector will be closed.

Sport is possible only in the following situations:

People over 18 years of age are allowed to play sports only if a distance of 1,5 meters is observed individually or in a team, but no more than 2 people. Competitions are not allowed.

Exceptions are:

  • Top athletes with status in certain positions (e.g. Papendal)
  • Footballers (including other staff at the bubbel) Eredivisie and Eerste Divisie.

For children under 18, team sports and competitions with the teams of their club are allowed. In addition to sports canteens, showers and changing rooms are closed. Group lessons and the presence of spectators at sports matches are prohibited.

Travels:

Traveling within the Netherlands:

  • Stay at home as long as possible.
  • Avoid unnecessary travel.
  • Are you going on vacation anyway? Stay at the address of your holiday as long as possible.
  • Limit travel and avoid crowds.

Travel outside the Netherlands:

  • Do not book trips abroad until mid-January unless absolutely necessary.
  • Holidays and family visits are optional.

From November 19, the Cabinet of Ministers plans to return to the partial lockdown regime. In mid-December, the cabinet will assess new measures for subsequent periods. But before it will be possible to revise the measures, it will be necessary to know for sure that the growth rate of cases has decreased.
