Kindergartens, day care groups and other institutions were closed for more than 3 months, and all this time, parents had to pay bills. Today, 570 families who were promised compensation will finally receive it.
However, there are also thousands of parents who will not be able to receive reimbursement because they do not receive child care benefits, according to the Parents' Association for Child Care (BОinK). This population group was promised compensation for paying for non-attended institutions.
Parents who work in socially significant sectors, and still managed to place their children in specialized care facilities during the epidemic, will also receive compensation.
In addition, many families call BОinK because they received less money than they paid. However, the letter to parliament says the ministry has always assumed small differences between personal contribution and compensation in some cases. "Due to a number of simplifications in the scheme, the amount of compensation may differ from the personal contribution actually paid, as a result of which the compensation may be higher or lower."
Parents may receive overpriced compensation because the ministry has set a fixed maximum hourly rate. In addition, reimbursement may differ from childcare costs if the information provided by parents before April does not match the actual situation.
