The reporting period for filing declarations for 2018 is over! Those who managed to file a declaration can sleep peacefully until next year, those who requested an extension must work a little more.
However, already now, during this reporting period (from March 1, 2019 to May 1, 2019), as the tax authorities say on its website, a record number (9,5 million tax returns) were filed. Which is 300.000 more than last year (9,2 million). Also, never before have so many people filed their tax returns on the first day: 470.000. On the last day, the tax office received 340.000 tax returns.
“We want to thank everyone who filed a tax return, whether you filed for yourself, helped someone else file, or filed on behalf of someone else! This also applies to all participating public organizations and volunteers,” says Eline Spros, director of the department for work with individuals of the tax service, summing up the results of the past 2 months in her blog.
Also this year, the tax office, together with many other organizations, offered assistance in filling out tax returns. During this time, 53.000 meetings have been scheduled, at which this assistance was provided. That is 6.000 less than last year (59.000 in 2018).
The tax office received 1 calls between March 1 and May 769.000, which is 21.000 less than last year (790.000 in 2018). Finally, there were 2.800 messages received via Twitter and Facebook this year, down 1.700 from last year (4.500 in 2018).
