Family reunification
The family reunification program in the Netherlands does not work in the form in which it exists in a number of other EU countries (for example, in Belgium, France, Germany). However, for persons who have acquired Dutch citizenship, there is still the possibility of family reunification, albeit often in a somewhat roundabout way.
Family reunification is considered to be an invitation to the country of the closest relatives (in addition to the official partner), including elderly parents.
