In 90% of cases, buyers of residential real estate are faced with the need to return advance payments received to the tax authorities.

If you purchased a home in 2024 and filed an advance report (Voorlopige aanslag) to receive payments, now is the time to update the information in it.

Why is this important?

In the year you buy your home, your report includes the cost of getting a mortgage, but the following year, those costs will no longer be relevant, and only your mortgage interest payments will be included. To ensure that your payments from the IRS remain accurate, your advance report must be amended. The IRS does not make changes automatically - you must do this manually.

When should it be done?

Changes to the advance report must be made in November.

The first payment of the advance tax for the next year is made on December 20 of the current year, so we recommend that you contact us for a review in November - this will allow you to make changes to the advance report in a timely manner and avoid unexpected financial adjustments in the future.
