The Central State Agency for Real Estate (Rijksvastgoedbedrijf - RVB) has entered into an agreement with the Netherlands Banking Association (Nederlandse Vereniging van Banken - NVB) and will search for the heirs of inactive bank accounts. In most cases, the heirs of "dormant assets" can be found. If this does not happen, the right to these assets passes to the state, however, if within 20 after that the heir is still found, the money is returned to him through the consignment fund of the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands.
Perhaps later RVB will look for the heirs of account holders who are believed to have died. Now they are looking for the heirs of people who died reliably, then they will start looking for those who presumably died, as they “are” at the age of 115 years or more.
Therefore, the liquidation of inactive accounts is beneficial for banks, heirs, and the state. RVB was chosen as NVB's partner in finding heirs of dormant assets, as the organization has extensive experience in finding heirs to the remaining orphan properties. For the time being, they will be looking for heirs to accounts with 8000 euros or more. Searching for accounts with smaller deposits is unprofitable. RVB is ready to enter into agreements to search for heirs of inactive accounts with individual banks: the circumstances and wishes of different banks are different, and such agreements will maximize the satisfaction of the wishes of a particular bank.
