In connection with the war unleashed by Russia in Ukraine, a large number of Ukrainians suffered from this aggression. Many people lost their property and jobs, left their homes. Ukraine and international organizations, in an effort to make life easier for the victims, have introduced programs to help Ukrainians.

There are currently five main programs:

  1. State program of assistance to temporarily displaced persons,
  2. Cash assistance from the Red Cross,
  3. Social assistance from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF),
  4. Financial assistance from the UN,
  5. Payments from the Norwegian Refugee Council.

Let's learn more about them.

State program of assistance to internally displaced persons

Residents of Ukraine who are forced to flee the war to other regions of the country and who have obtained the status of an internally displaced person (IDP) can receive UAH 3000 per month for a child or disabled person and UAH 2000 per healthy adult per month. Only those whose homes have been destroyed as a result of hostilities, and those who have moved from settlements in which fighting is taking place or who are surrounded and under enemy occupation, can become participants in the program. To participate in the program, people whose homes have been destroyed must first apply for damages.

The list of territories in which active hostilities are taking place, surrounded and under occupation, can be viewed here. An application for receiving payments can be submitted at the nearest branch of the Social Protection Fund or through the “Diya” application on a smartphone.

Cash aid from the Red Cross

Assistance from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) can be received by Ukrainians who lived in the territories of communities affected by the war as of February 24, 2022 and who are officially classified as low-income. There is no need to apply for assistance: every low-income Ukrainian living in the affected communities will automatically receive UAH 2500 per person per month, regardless of whether he stayed at his place of residence or moved. The program is currently limited to three months. The program is carried out with the participation of the Ukrainian Ministry of Social Policy and the Red Cross Society.

Social assistance from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)

Parents and adoptive parents of minor children can apply for assistance if one of the following conditions is met:

  • The family has at least three children under the age of 18,
  • There is at least one foster child with a disability in the family.

Assistance is provided only to those families who did not receive assistance from international organizations after February 24.02.2022, XNUMX.

The amount of assistance is UAH 2200 per family member, but not more than UAH 11. The application program was stopped, but since June 000 it has already been resumed. You can apply for assistance here or call 0-800-600-017.
